FileZilla is an open source project for FTP Client and Server solutions. Filezilla Software helps advanced webmasters to manage their files through Filezilla FTP Client. This Software is mostly useful for Secure file management. There are other similar popular softwares also available in Internet but Filezilla plays very important role. Most of advanced webmasters and web hosting Companies recommend Filezilla as best FTP Client service. FileZilla designed and developed two types of products for advanced webmasters as stated below.
- FileZilla Client
- Filezilla Server
FileZilla FTP Client and Server are useful to transfer files across the Internet. That is the main purpose of this service. You can also use Web FTP if your web hosting Company offers Web FTP but FileZilla FTP Client or Server gives best results. That is why; even web hosting Companies also recommend FileZilla.
Tim Kosse is leader and founder of FileZilla. FileZilla project was started as Computer Science Class project in January 2001. Tim Kosse and his two friends involved FileZilla project. They successfully completed their Computer Science project and remaining classmates wrote “4-in-a-row” Clone. Surprisingly, FileZilla project was successful. Later, Tim Kosse decided to introduce FileZilla project to World for advanced webmasters but Tim Kosse faced some problems while releasing their software. In other words, there were already other popular FTP Client services available in Internet. So, it is highly impossible to make FileZilla as popular FTP Client. Once again, Tim Kosse proved that Nothing is impossible to the world by making FileZilla as successful open source project. At this time, FileZilla Open source project’s Source code is hosted at SourceForge.net for best Source Code hosting. That is why; you will be redirected to SourceForge once you click on download button in FileZilla official website.
Tim Kosse released first FTP Client software as FileZilla α in February 2001. FileZilla α became one of the best FTP Client softwares within few days time. Tim Kosse focused on further development of FileZilla. FileZilla is easy in use and free. That is why; FileZilla became very popular in our world and also became major competitor to all FTP Client softwares. FileZilla FTP Client looks like as shown in below screen shot.
No special training is required to access FileZilla FTP Client. Download software from their official website and install it in your computer. You will see FTP Client window as shown in above screen shot after successful software installation. Now enter your FTP URL of your website, FTP Username and Password and click “Quick Connect” button. In few seconds, FileZilla FTP Client connects you with your website files. You can add or remove files through this service.
Actually, I did not know much details about FileZilla but as you already know EBlog4Every1 was shifted from Blogger to WordPress software supportable self hosting for full web hosting features. Later, I learned WordPress Themes and Plugin installations. So, we need an FTP Client. My Web hosting Company gives list of FTP Client softwares but they recommend FileZilla as best. Later, I understood the specialty of FileZilla. I don’t know about remaining FTP Client softwares but FileZilla is my favorite FTP Client software forever.
